Can you have a health baby even if you have a cyst on your ovary?

I found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant. 2 days ago I had cramping and I got scared, so I went to the emergency room. They did an ultra sound on me and said that everything looks normal, and there is a cyst on my ovary. They say this feeds the baby until the cord forms, but my sister who is a nurse says it’s not called a cyst it’s something else. SOMEONE help me!! :)

Don’t worry! Yes you can have a healthy baby-I did.

My daughter delivered healthy full term twins with a cyst. The cyst grew as the babies did and was dangerous because the female hormones fed it. As soon as she gave birth it shrunk back down to the size of a walnut. She didn’t have any other children and 14 years after giving birth she had a hysterectomy. She is just fine.

You have nothing to worry about regarding the "cyst", hypochondria is a common side effect of pregnancy. Best of luck.

    1) Go by what the doctor says. I know your sister is a nurse, but your sister was not there for the ultrasound. Plus your sister depsite her medical knowledge, does not know everything a doctor does.

    2) You should be fine, as the baby, if under close supervision of your physician.
